Grellis, also known as the "First-god", according the ancient Creation Myth of the Befores, was an immense stone which was wise beyond compare, who created Galwyndor out of sorrow and boredom. Grellis created the first three gods, Drend, Orend, and Helirend. It was said that this sorrow and boredom, being innate to the First-god, is the reason humans are able to experience sorrow and boredom so easily and naturally. It is why solitude is avoided by many people, and they say that eventually even the most stalwart of humans would go mad from enough solitude. The creation of everything was originally a response to boredom and loneliness.
